‘Luxfer’s first products were glass prism tiles used to direct sunlight into dark interior spaces. The tiles were invented and patented in the USA by Luxfer founder James Pennycuick.’

Luxfer developed the world’s first aluminum SCUBA cylinder in collaboration with the famous underwater explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Be the next legend.
Our cylinders are approved to DOT-3 AL and ISO 7866 Standards and prepared for use with oxygen-enriched breathing mixtures. A wide range of customisation options are available.
In 1988, Luxfer introduced SCUBA tanks manufactured from L6X®, a proprietary formula of aluminum alloy 6061-T6 developed by Luxfer metallurgists to provide superior corrosion-resistance and dependable performance in the most demanding underwater environments.
SCUBA SCUBA divingIn addition to its line of aluminum SCUBA cylinders, Luxfer also offers the world’s only 4,350-psi (300-bar) hoop-wrapped composite SCUBA cylinders, which provide increased gas capacity for longer, deeper dives.
SCUBA SCUBA divingLuxfer SCUBA cylinders are cycle-tested in excess of 100,000 cycles at service pressure. Minimum burst pressure is tested to 2.5 times service pressure without failure.

(Should I be doing anything different for my aluminum alloy 6061 composite cylinders than I have done in the past?)
