For nearly four decades, our scuba cylinders have been synonymous with quality, safety, and innovation. Key Account Manager Sally Jollands dives into what sets us apart.
Exploring the ocean remains one of humanity’s greatest frontiers. Whether mapping uncharted underwater landscapes, studying marine ecosystems, or simply enjoying the wonders of recreational diving, technological advancements play a crucial role in making these adventures safer and more accessible. Central to these advancements is the scuba cylinder – a diver’s lifeline beneath the surface.
Innovations in cylinder design, materials, and safety features continue to redefine the diving experience, and Luxfer Gas Cylinders has consistently been at the forefront of these developments. By prioritising durability, lightweight design, and sustainable manufacturing, we ensure divers can focus on the thrill of exploration rather than their equipment.
From collaborating with the legendary Jacques-Yves Cousteau – who helped us pioneer our very first scuba cylinder, which was launched in 1988 – to supporting extraordinary rescue missions, Luxfer has continually pushed the boundaries of what is possible beneath the waves.
Meeting every diving need
From shallow dives to technical expeditions in extreme environments, divers around the globe rely on our expertise and dedication to safety and innovation.
One of our proudest moments was supporting the Tham Luang cave rescue in 2018. Working with our regional distribution partner, we provided 400 Luxfer cylinders to aid the rescue of the 12 young footballers and their coach who were trapped in a flooded cave. This extraordinary mission underscored Luxfer’s reputation for reliability in even the most challenging conditions.
Our scuba cylinders, however, are not only used by rescuers – our extensive range is designed to meet the needs of every diver, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Whether undertaking a recreational dive or tackling technical expeditions, we offer scuba cylinders for:
Beginners and recreational divers: The P3403V (40.5 cubic feet free air capacity) cylinder is ideal for shallow dives, providing ease of use and reliability for new divers. The P3404V and P3405V (80 cubic feet free air capacity) cylinders are another top choice for standard diving experiences, offering a balance of capacity and manoeuvrability.
Advanced and technical divers: Our recently released P3413V and P3414V (100 cubic feet free air capacity) cylinders are designed for extended dive times and deeper explorations, making it perfect for technical and advanced diving.
Specialised options: Our range also includes smaller cylinders for buoyancy inflation vests (0.1-0.4L) and pony cylinders for deep dives (1.0-4.0L), ensuring versatility and adaptability for various diving scenarios.
Introducing our P3413V and P3414V L6X Aluminum SCUBA cylinders
With a free air capacity of 100 cubic feet, the introduction of these scuba cylinders exemplifies our commitment to supporting the diving community with the very best in underwater technology. Designed to support extended dive times, these cylinders offer enhanced durability, and the lightweight convenience that divers expect from Luxfer products.
Features: What sets our scuba cylinders apart
At Luxfer we understand that diving equipment is not just gear – it is a lifeline. That is why our cylinders are designed with the highest standards of safety, comfort, and performance in mind. Standout features of Luxfer’s scuba cylinders include:
Enhanced durability: Our scuba cylinders are crafted using our proprietary L6X aluminum alloy, known for its superior corrosion resistance and exceptional longevity. This durability makes them suitable for both recreational and technical divers, ensuring they can withstand the rigours of underwater exploration.
Lightweight design: Diving should be an adventure, not a burden. Our scuba cylinders are designed to be significantly lighter, providing divers with greater ease of movement both in and out of the water. Our lightweight design reduces strain and enhances overall comfort, particularly during extended dives or when transporting gear.
Improved safety: With safety at the core of our design philosophy, we offer divers peace of mind. With free air capacity ranging from 2 cubic feet to 100 cubic feet, our cylinders support extended dive times and deeper explorations without compromising safety.
Sustainable manufacturing: At Luxfer we align our production processes with global efforts to protect the environment. By streamlining manufacturing processes, we aim to minimise our environmental impact.
